Sing the Land to Sleep

Ah, here we have arrived, this being the last month of the calendar year.  The day is dark and cold and the wind blustery.  The leaves have long since fallen, and everywhere has a brownish-greyish hue.  The snow is coming and going as the days pass. I think of this as the time to sing the land to sleep.

For me, the song I turn to at this time of year is “Lullaby for Tree”.  I wrote this one a number of years back, and it is a soft tune for the land.  It gently offers the thought that the land loves you as much as you love the land.

Lullaby for Tree – original post with downloadable lyrics HERE

I will be singing this song as I wander the land in these darkening days.  I will also sing it with my family as the shortest day of the year arrives, and I look forward to sharing this song with my community when we gather for a Solstice Celebration on Wednesday, December 21st.  If you are in the area, I would love for you to join.  You can register for the event HERE.

Will you sing “Lullaby for Tree”?  I would love to hear all about it!  I’m always so happy to hear how you are connecting with the work here at Land Heart Song.  Drop me a message or leave a comment below!
